The Bible is divided into two parts. The first part (the Old Testament) is written from the creation of the Earth and ends before Jesus was born. The second part (the New Testament) is written from the birth of Jesus and ends after the first apostles.

When you read the Bible, start with the New Testament (NT). Read one of the Gospels (the first four books of the NT) to get a handle on who Jesus really is and what he said. Then read book 5 (Acts of the Apostles) and/or one of the other books, such as the letter of James, 1st and 2nd Epistles of Peter or Paul’s letter to the Ephesians (not the Revelation of John in the first place, as it is a vision that is quite difficult to understand).

Read the New Testament as if things happened yesterday in your area… because pretty much everything in it is happening today.

What is written in the Bible is 100% truth. Therefore, it is not enough to read the Bible and think “fine enough – that’s for everyone else”… It is actually for you! Do you believe in Jesus – in the word..? If so, DO what it says… and BE what it says – REST in the fact that it applies to YOU ​​who believe in Jesus.

When it says that….
…you are a child of God – so BECOME a child of God.
…you are in the light – so STAY in the light and turn your back on the darkness.
…you are freed from sin, death, guilt and shame – so LIVE in freedom from it.
…you are an ambassador for Christ – so BE a representative and mouthpiece for Jesus.
…God is for you, so that no evil can defeat you – so do not live in fear.
…Love is most important – so kill your pride, your ego and your inferiority complex – LIVE in love and care.
…you must bury your old life in sin and repent – ​​then be baptized (full immersion) and repent.
…you must heal the sick – so lay your hands on the sick and heal them.
…you must cast out demons – so kick them out.

But if you look into the perfect law of liberty and continue in it, you will not be forgetful hearers but doers of the word. For it is the doers of the word who experience God’s blessing.
Those who think they are religious but do not bridle their tongues deceive themselves. Their religious service is worthless.
No, the true and pure religious service is to look after orphans and widows and to avoid being polluted by worldly things.

No matter where you are, you can read the Bible… and it doesn’t matter if you are in your room, in nature, on the toilet or in bed. God’s word can be read no matter where you are and what you are doing…!

Jesus is the living bread (John 6:36 and John 6:51) and the living water (John 4:10) – so fill yourself with the word and with fellowship and friendship with Jesus Christ. “Eat” and “drink” and let the Holy Spirit make the text and your relationship with Him alive for you… but remember that after you have eaten and drunk, you must also exercise… you get that by acting on what you read.

If you ONLY read and never act on what you’ve read, you might as well not read at all!

Provocative..! Satan also knows the entire Bible… because he was there when it was written – and Satan not only believes in God, but he KNOWS that God is there! Satan has just chosen NOT to obey God.

Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock.

Everyone who hears my words but does not act on them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.

When reading the Bible, you should NOT “scroll” through it. It is not about reading a lot and quickly, but about letting the Holy Spirit reveal the text to you.

How should you read it? Here is an example of a verse that many Christians have probably read over and over again. When you know it, it just becomes platitudes, but doesn’t really make sense…

Matthew 6:33-34a

Seek first the kingdom of God and his will, and all these things will be added to you.
Therefore do not worry about what will happen tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own troubles without any help….

Stop right here! What does it mean…??? What is the kingdom of God…?? And what does it mean that we should FIRST seek the kingdom of God and do His will? What about the reward..? Do I really seek God to get the reward? – or is it to seek Him wholeheartedly and do His will?? And if I seek the kingdom of God and His will first, what consequences does that have for me? And what consequences does following Him have..???

So don’t just yap through it, but stop and think about what you’re actually reading and what it means… It will give you a whole new understanding of God’s word.
