Trosgrundlag for LytTilJesus.dk

The purpose of LytTilJesus.dk is to point to Jesus Christ as our only savior – and as the only way to God.

People must experience freedom through Jesus Christ in all aspects of life (spirit, soul and body), and at the same time the work must help raise new disciples of Jesus Christ.

We want to reach non-believers with the gospel of Jesus Christ through, among other things, evangelism/healings on the street, healing events, teaching at schools and high schools, participation in New-Age fairs, production of films and teaching, distribution of Bibles and other materials that point to Jesus Christ, etc.

We want to reach out to believers and set them “on fire” for Jesus through discipleship, prayer, teaching, etc. – we also want to warn believers about pitfalls such as New-Age.

LytTilJesus.dk was started by Birte and Andreas Slot-Henriksen. It is NOT an association, church or organization. We see LytTilJesus.dk as part of God’s church – part of the body with Jesus as the head.

We believe in the entire Bible without exception. We build the foundation of our entire life and existence on the Bible (KJV / The Danish Authorized Bible from 1992). God is always the same!! His heart and attitudes never change. Therefore, we do NOT try to manipulate the Bible to fit society, but we will follow the Bible at all times. We will use the Old Testament to understand God’s heart BEFORE the law, and we will always submit to the New Testament.

We believe in God as our Father, the Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.

We believe in Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, our Lord and Savior, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.

We believe that Jesus lived under the old covenant, and first instituted the new covenant by His death on the cross, where He descended into hell, after three days He rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sat at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from where He will come to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, in the power, signs, gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit, and that we believers shall constitute the church of God, which is part of the body of Christ.

We believe in the forgiveness of sins when we repent of what we have done wrong and turn from sin. We believe in the resurrection of the body and in eternal life when we confess Jesus as our only Lord and obey and follow His commandments.

We believe that God’s spirit, the Holy Spirit, is at work today with all the gifts mentioned in the Bible, such as prophecy, speaking in tongues, healing, raising the dead, and other signs, wonders, and miracles. We believe that we should follow Jesus’ command to equip new disciples and that we should baptize them into the body of Jesus Christ on their own repentance from sin and on their own professed faith. People should be baptized when God calls, but they should KNOW the basis and consequences BEFORE they choose to be baptized!

We believe that the Devil exists, that he walks around like a roaring lion, a liar and a thief. We go against everything he stands for and everything he is. We believe that Jesus won the victory over death and over Satan when Jesus died on the cross and rose again.

We believe that people who have not lived 100% pure, right and close to Jesus their entire lives CAN have demons within them that they can be set free from. You can also be influenced by, for example, family curses or other demonic bindings – regardless of whether you are a believer or not.

We believe that we should live fully under God’s grace and thus NOT begin to observe some of the old Mosaic laws such as observing Shabbat or not eating pork.

We believe that God is amazing and sovereign. We believe that He is the originator of all life and that He is the creator of our earth and the vast universe.

We believe that works alone do not save, but that faith must at all times produce works in love and obedience to Jesus. Faith without works is therefore empty and worthless. Likewise, action without faith and relationship to Jesus is empty and worthless.

We believe that no human being can earn salvation (eternal life with Jesus) by his own efforts. Salvation is a gift from God, which we can receive by his grace if we:

1. Believe in Jesus and confess faith in Him

Paul’s Letter to the Romans 10.9–11
9 That if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation, 11 for the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”

2. Repent from sin and live a life where we strive not to sin.

Paul’s Letter to the Romans 6.23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 3:36
36 He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

Matthew 5:29–30
29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away from you; for it is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away from you; for it is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

3. As an act of obedience, be baptized (full immersion) into Jesus Christ and receive the Holy Spirit

First Letter of Peter 3:18–22
18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh but made alive in the Spirit, 19 and in it he went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20 to those who had been disobedient when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being built, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. 21 This water represents baptism, which now saves you, not as the removal of dirt from the body but as an answer to a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to him.

Mark 16:15–16
15
Then he said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

4. Staying on the “narrow path”

– so it is a path to salvation and not something that happens once. So if you lose faith in Jesus, you also lose the gift, which is to go to heaven.

Matthew 7:13–14
13 Enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are the ones going in through it. 14 How narrow is the gate and difficult is the way that leads to life, and few are the ones finding it!

John 8:12
12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians 9.24–27
24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run so that you may win! 25 But every athlete exercises self-control in all things—some to receive a crown that fades away, but we to receive an imperishable one. 26 So I do not run aimlessly, so that I am not like a boxer beating the air. 27 I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, so that after I have preached to others, I myself may not become disqualified.

John 8:51
51 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.

Salvation is not something that happens simply because we say YES to Jesus once and invite Him into our lives. To be saved, we must STAY on the path (abide in Jesus Christ).

John 15:1–8
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, except it abide in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 Whoever does not abide in me is thrown away as a branch and withers; they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 My Father is glorified in this, that you bear much fruit and prove to be my disciples.

We believe that we are called to live a holy life (1 Pet 1:14-17). This means that everyone must repent of sin. If one does not want to repent, the community is not the right place to be. We should not “beat each other on the head”, but we should lovingly correct and guide each other in the words of the Bible.

Paul’s Letter to the Galatians 5:16-21
16 What I mean is this: Live by the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. These are in conflict with each other, so that you cannot do the things you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 The works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, envy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, 21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these. I tell you beforehand, as I have told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

We believe that baptism is not just a symbol, but it is a spiritual covenant that a person enters into to belong to Jesus. Baptism in itself (without faith) does not save, but it is a part of salvation. Baptism is thus an act of obedience (James 2:24), which is an integral part of the salvation package (Mark 16:15-16 & 1 Peter 3:21).

We believe that the Greek word for baptism is “baptizo”, and means full immersion / soaking. We therefore do not recognize the national church “baptism” as being Biblical.

Baptism as full immersion is an act of obedience of one’s own choice, which must not take place until the person concerned has understood the gospel and the meaning of baptism.

We do NOT baptize people unless they are willing to submit to Jesus Christ and the entire Bible and are ready to forsake all sin. If the motivation for baptism is healing or deliverance, etc., the heart is wrong and we will not baptize that person.

We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit should be a central part of the group. We believe that speaking in tongues should be used actively, but primarily between a person and God, unless it can be interpreted by others. However, we are welcome to sing or pray aloud in tongues “privately” before God several at a time. We believe that if God leads to an interpretation of tongues, a prophecy or a picture, it should be brought to the group – and there should always be room to judge what is said.

For example, we do not believe that the Bible prohibits eating, for example, pork – therefore you should not instruct others not to do so.

Likewise, we do not want “indifferent” theologies to take center stage, such as “flat earth.” For example, what one believes about the shape of the earth is irrelevant, but the Bible should never be used as ammunition in topics like this where it is not directly written.

Just as Jesus loves his children, we should love one another. If you have a problem with someone, go to that person and NOT to others. If there are still disagreements, go to the leadership group and NOT to others in the group in the first place.

Slander, disparagement, cliques, etc. are NOT welcome!

New people must be prioritized, and they must be helped on their path in their faith, so that they are not alone, and so that the battles do not become too difficult when Satan “bares his teeth.” Everyone has a responsibility to ‘be there’ for each other.

Paul’s Letter to the Galatians 5:16-26
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

We do not believe that women should wear a headscarf. We believe that women are WELCOME to serve among God’s people – including in leadership. However, women should never have the highest responsibility in a community, but are welcome to teach, prophesy, evangelize, heal, baptize, etc.

Even though a woman is not to have the ultimate leadership, God can certainly call her to start a community. Of course, she must be obedient in that calling – even if she will be the female leader in the community. If later a man with experience in the faith and who loves Jesus enters the community, who shows himself to be stable and who submits himself to Jesus in everything, the woman should, when the time is right, invite this man in as co-leader.

Whatever people choose to give in gifts or provide physical labor to the community will NEVER go to Birte and Andreas Slot-Henriksen or others privately. It is always for the work of God’s kingdom, unless otherwise directly agreed upon / specifically desired by the giver.

We do NOT believe in tithing as a Biblical requirement, as it is an Old Testament law that died out with the making of the New Covenant on the cross. We believe that each individual should give as the Spirit of God leads – and that each individual should give from a CHEERFUL heart, for the purpose to which God leads.

We believe in the principle of giving “first fruits” – that the FIRST thing you have in your account should go to God’s work and ministry… and not just “what’s left” at the end of the month.

When you donate time or money to the work, it should ONLY be by choice because you know it is the right thing to do and because the Holy Spirit is leading you to do so. This also means that no matter how much you contribute, it does not give you a greater influence in the work – it is a donation given without expecting anything in return.

Give according to your ability, according to your heart, and according to what God leads you to.

We want people to see each other as equals at all times. Every leader must be able to humble themselves and serve others – exactly as Jesus taught.

Paul’s Letter to the Galatians 5.13–18
13 Brothers, you were called to freedom. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another. 16 What I mean is, live by the Spirit, and do not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the lust of the flesh opposes the Spirit, and the Spirit opposes the flesh. These are in conflict with each other, so that you cannot do the things you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Gospel of John 13:4–17
4 Then Jesus got up from the table, laid aside his outer garments, took a towel, and girded himself. 5 Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded. 6 Then he came to Simon Peter, and Peter said to him, “Lord, are you washing my feet?” 7 Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will understand later.” 8 Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with me.” 9 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, see not only my feet, but also my hands and my head.” 10 Jesus said to him, “He who has bathed does not need to wash except his feet, but is clean every inch of him. And you are clean, but not all of you.” 11 For he knew who would betray him; therefore he said, Ye are not all clean.
12 So when he had washed their feet, and had put on his outer garments, and was reclined at the table again, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you? 13 You call me Teacher and Lord, and rightly so, for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. 16 Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

We are bound by confidentiality in all personal matters entrusted to us.

However, we reserve the right at all times to give God the credit for any miracles and testimonies by publicly telling what God has done for you, or what spiritual battles you have been involved in – however, this will ALWAYS be in an anonymous form, unless otherwise agreed individually in each case.

We believe that God heals today and that Jesus has taken our sicknesses and sufferings upon Himself. Not only did this happen 2000 years ago, but Jesus has commanded us to pray for the sick and expect healing.

If you experience healing (physically or mentally) and you believe that you no longer need any medication, it is always YOUR responsibility to contact your doctor for a possible tapering off. We do NOT recommend that you ‘just throw away’ all medication, but that you involve your doctor in your process.

If you have a different opinion, come and talk about it so we can dispel all misunderstandings, because it should ALWAYS be YOUR choice what you do, and as mentioned, we do not recommend that you stop taking any medication without consulting your doctor!

We want to pray for you! We believe fully and firmly in God’s full healing power through Jesus Christ! We KNOW that Jesus heals today too. What you do after we have prayed for you is out of our hands and is entirely your own responsibility.

We believe that we should disciple each other to follow Jesus, evangelize and be active in the faith with all the gifts and fruits of the spirit out among other people.

Matthew 28:18–20
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. «

We believe that in the Old Testament the priesthood was reserved for the Levites (Exodus 28:1; Numbers 3:10) – and of these, only the high priest could enter before God once a year into the “Holy of Holies” (Leviticus 16) in the temple.

With Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection to life, we entered into the new covenant, where access to God was opened to all believers. The veil of the inner sanctuary of the temple was torn (Matthew 27:51), and the priesthood was no longer reserved for the Levites, but all believers are now called to be “a holy priesthood” (1 Peter 2:5, 5 and 9) with Jesus as high priest (Hebrews 5:5-6). Everyone may come to God – but ONLY through Jesus Christ (John 14:6). In other words: Without Jesus, no access to God (1 John 2:23).
1 Peter 2:4–5

4 Coming to him, a living stone, rejected by men but chosen by God and precious, 5 you yourselves, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:9

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

The Christian community (ekklēsia) is a “spiritual house” where each individual is a living stone (1 Peter 2:4-5) and is called to bring spiritual sacrifices (prayer, praise, service, love) – not just to receive, but to actively serve and build up the community.

The Role of Leadership
Although all believers are pastors, the New Testament emphasizes the importance of leadership and spiritual guidance in the congregation.

Leadership is a ministry—not a position of power.
A true leader must lead in character, love, teaching, and service, and be an example to the flock (1 Peter 5:2-3).

The leadership’s task is to promote a healthy and biblical community and protect the congregation from heresy and religiousness.

In our community, we want leaders who, with humility, courage, and love, lead God’s people according to Jesus’ example – with their eyes firmly fixed on Him, who is the true shepherd, head, and cornerstone of the congregation.

Our goals and desires for leadership are that a leader should…:

Impeccable Character and Conduct
A leader must be blameless, the husband of one wife [in the sense of being faithful to one partner], sober, temperate, dignified, hospitable, able to teach, not given to wine, not violent, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not greedy for money. He must manage his own household well, having children in subjection with respect.
(1 Tim 3,2-4)

Firm in the faith and sound doctrine
A leader must be hospitable, a lover of goodness, self-controlled, just, godly, and temperate. He must hold fast to sound doctrine, so that he will be able both to exhort and to refute those who contradict
(Titus 1:6-9)

Shepherd and Example
A leader should shepherd the flock of God, not under compulsion, but willingly; not for dishonest gain, but eagerly; not as lording it over others, but being examples to the flock.
(1 Peter 5:2-3)

Servant Leadership
A leader should serve others and not seek to be served, just as Christ himself came to serve and give his life as a ransom for many.
(Matthew 20:26-28)

Prayer and Ministry of the Word
A leader should devote himself to prayer and ministry of the word.
(Acts 6:4)

Example for the Believers
A leader should be an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
(1 Tim 4:12)

Ensure that everything is done decently.
A leader must ensure that everything is done decently and properly in the community. This applies both to the use of gifts of grace (1 Cor 14:33) and in relation to doctrine and theology, etc.

Leadership Composition
We want a leadership team to consist of multiple leadership pairs to benefit from the synergy between male and female. Just as Adam first became “one” when Eve was created, we want this unity and wholeness to be reflected in the leadership.

A woman can therefore be a co-leader, but should not stand alone in leadership – unless otherwise is not possible.

If the community is primarily made up of singles and/or women – or if there are no suitable couples in the congregation – it is more important to build a solid leadership team than to maintain an ideal that leaders must necessarily be couples or men.

Selection and Responsibility
A leader must be chosen through prayer and installed under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the responsibility of the existing leadership to select and install new leaders – not the rest of the community.

Spiritual ministries in leadership
Where possible, it is healthy and edifying to assemble a leadership team that reflects the fivefold ministry of Ephesians 4:11: apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds, and teachers, so that the spiritual life and growth of the entire congregation can be promoted and equipped.

Accountability to God
A leader bears a spiritual responsibility and will one day have to give an account of his service to God (Hebrews 13:17). Therefore, leadership must be exercised with humility, vigilance, and in reverence for Him.

We do not want to be a self-willed community, but we also want to be led on the path of correct and Biblical teaching. As a community, we can vouch for the majority of the teaching from:
– Derek Prince
– David Pawson
– John Bevere
– Dan Mohler
– Andrew Wommack.

If you are not strong in faith, we advise against filling yourself with YouTube teachings from other preachers, so as not to be brainwashed by unbiblical heresy.

We strongly distance ourselves from “false prophets” such as:
– Lars Muhl
– Joseph Smidth (Mormons)
– Ellen G. White (Seventh Day Adventists – SDA)
– Watchtower (Jehovah’s Witnesses)
– Mohammed (Islam)
– Martinus Thomsen (The Third Testament – Spiritual Science)
– John MacArthur (Grace Community Church), Voddie Baucham, Paul Washer, John Piper and generally all other Calvinists.

– Charles Stanley and all other preachers of OSAS (Once Saved, Always Saved)

etc. – and we consider them to be deceivers, and not servants of God.
– “The Prosperity Gospel” – e.g. Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn and Joel Osteen etc.
