About Birte Slot-Henriksen
My name is Birte Slot-Henriksen (born Poulsen, born in 1971). I grew up in the country close to Langå and my parents attended Christian meetings at “Indre Mission” (a direction in the State church). When I was in 9th class I began to think deeper about my Christian faith. The main reason why I was a believer was because my parents had told me that believing in God was the right thing to do, but during the spring in my 9th class I experienced that my faith came alive. I went to some meetings in a non-denominational church in the town called Randers and this is where I experienced that God was more real than I had realized before.
After that, life went on with high school, work, travelling abroad and finally moving to Vejle to become a teacher. During my student years, I met my future husband, Andreas Slot-Henriksen and therefore I stayed in Vejle after graduation. We were happily married, but not too long after the wedding we were in the middle of different kinds of struggles. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which caused a lot of change in our family.
The years went by with additions to the family and with serving in our church, Apostolsk Kirke. Then during the summer of 2013, Andreas experienced a great spiritual change. He fell madly in love with God.
Suddenly, my husband was no longer the same man that I married and I prayed to God a lot that I might experience something similar, but also that I be healed in my body.
During Easter of 2014, the miracle happened … I was healed from multiple sclerosis through prayer and that transformed my relationship to God as well as my physical life.
I began to join Andreas in praying for the sick and at the summer holiday of 2014, I resigned from my job in order to serve God full-time. What a life 😉
