Is the glass half full or is it half empty? Is your daily life gray and dull and empty…?
Are you generally a positive or a negative person? Do you focus on the tedious things that seem to overshadow your daily life, or are you quick to anger or disappointment?
Do you normally start your day by saying: ‘…another tedious day like all the others’? Or do you say: ’Jesus, thank you for an amazing day in the middle of your creation – thank You that today will be a great day in spite of negative experiences, because this day is Yours, Jesus’? How do you choose to prophecy into your day and into your life?
It is so easy to cry in your soup and thing ‘everybody else don’t care about me’, ‘it’s probably my own fault’, ‘everything goes wrong for me’… etc. and perhaps that is even for good reason….
Do you realize how little it takes to turn it around…? If you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY understood that after receiving Jesus and trusting His word, you are truly a child of God, you would have no reason to mope around. Do you know the promises Jesus has placed on your life…? If you don’t, then read your Bible and get to know your identity in Christ and receive them.
– start seeing all the positive things in your daily life and thank Jesus for them. If you think there aren’t any, look for them, because we all have SO MUCH to be thankful for. Thank Him for creating you….
Take and open the gifts of joy, excitement, peace and tolerance – open them and start to use them and let Jesus use you in obedience…. That brings blessings.
Think of Stephen…. He had nothing and was stoned for believing in Jesus – even so, he was smiling as he was stoned. Don’t we have so much more…??? And often we are totally blind to it.
So, make an active choice and be thankful for who you are and for what has been entrusted to you instead of looking at your neighbor and being jealous…. Because envy, vanity, anger, and jealousy only lead to gloomy thoughts and feelings.
